PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — NFL on CBS play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz joined The Fan Morning Show on Friday to preview the Steelers’ Week 14 home contest against the Chargers, which can be seen Sunday at 1 p.m. on KDKA-TV (with Nantz and Phil Simms on the call).
Nantz stressed that things are going very poorly for the Chargers right now.
“They’re down in the dumps. Their playoff hopes are dashed,” Nantz said. “Maybe they just don’t have the talent. They’re coming in right now as a pretty beat up team.”
He mentioned that Steelers coach Mike Tomlin is a pleasure to chat with, and felt that the Steelers must be in a generally wonderful mood right now.
He also broke down the match-ups between the two teams’ units, explored the AFC playoff race and shared a behind the scenes look at the chats he has with players and coaches before his broadcasts.
