Snow Causing Travel Problems In Fayette County

UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- While there may not be much snow on the ground in Pittsburgh, travel just past Uniontown and you'll find a different story.

There's a couple inches of snow that's being blown on to the roads, and more snow is falling.

PennDOT trucks kept loading up with salt and anti-skid before heading back out on Route 40 in Wharton Township.

Fayette County 911 reported numerous fender benders across the county Friday night. Traffic was backed up near Uniontown Mall as a result. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

Tom Smith, who owns Nate-Doggs, says the weather is helping his business. He says people want to buy bread, milk and beer before they settle in for the night.

A number of people said the snow is putting them in a Christmas kind of mood.
