Police Investigating Mt. Oliver Pizza Shop Robbery

MOUNT OLIVER (KDKA) - Police are investigating after a pizza shop employee was pistol-whipped during a robbery Sunday night.

According to police, the incident happened at Aprimo Pizza on Brownsville Road around 8 p.m.

In the last 12 months, there have been six pizza shop or pizza delivery drivers robbed in Mt. Oliver.

"This is the third time in three weeks," Mary Embry said. "These guys are really good people and guess what? It's scary because there's young people working there and they're being physically accosted."

Those who own a pizza shop in Mt. Oliver are fearful of who's walking in their front door.

In this most recent heist, investigators said a male suspect - likely a juvenile - waved a gun and demanded cash.

The suspect also allegedly brutally pistol-whipped a restaurant employee before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash.

There's a chain up the street - Vocelli's. They got hit," Embry said.

On Dec. 12, an armed robber walked into Vocelli's and demand cash. Back on Dec. 5, Aprimo had another armed robbery. In both cases, victims say the suspect minded his manors, politely telling his terrified victims, "Have a good night."

Not only were they robbed twice in the last month, one of their drivers was held up on a delivery as well. These latest incidents total half of the six pizza shop robberies in that part of town in the last 12 months.

Anyone with information is asked to call Mount Oliver Police.
