PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — There are some new opportunities for artists and this year’s Three Rivers Arts Festival.

In additions to traditional staples, there will be a new performing arts series for local and regional artists.

Musicians, dancers, actors and literary and performance artists are all invited to submit their work.

There’s also a call for musicians to give local acts a chance for more exposure.

Local artists are also being asked to submit proposals for “riverlights,” a “temporary artistic lighting concept” to be showcased at Point State Park during the grand reopening of the fountain.
