BRADDOCK (KDKA) — The mayor of Braddock went door to door on Wednesday making certain residents with no gas service have some sort of heat to get them through the cold temperatures.

With a list of nearly 20 addresses in hand, Mayor John Fetterman is determined to go to each one of those homes before the night is over.

The residents on the list have not had gas for months in some cases.

“In a country like ours, that there is a family living like that in those types of circumstances,” says Mayor Fetterman.

Fetterman was able to get to a number of residents without gas heat and provide them with electric heaters in some cases.

Recently, Fetterman and city crews found a mother with several children living without heat, light and electricity.

Fortunately, Mayor Fetterman says they were able to move that family to a new home.
