Classes Canceled Friday At Duquesne U. Due To Power Outage

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A power outage has prompted the cancellation of all classes at Duquesne University on Friday, Feb. 22.

According to Duquesne University's website, heating and plumbing service have both also been impacted by the electricity outage.

Because of that, residents who live in St. Martin, St. Ann and Assumption residence halls have to be out of their dorms tonight by 10 p.m.

University officials say they are urging students to go home for the weekend or stay with friends.

Any student who needs a place to stay is asked to report to the Towers Multi-Purpose Room.

Also, university officials say the Power Center and the Duquesne Union will be open for 24 hours until further notice.

Crews are working around-the-clock to restore power.

Employees should report to work Friday.
