Matt Cooke: Pens Got 'Complacent' In Loss To Flyers

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - The Matt Cooke Show features a weekly appearance from the Pittsburgh Penguin forward with Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan's Vinnie & Cook.

After turning an early lead into a disappointing loss to the Philadelphia Flyers, Cooke reflects on what could have been.

"I think we got a little complacent up 2-0," Cooke said. "I felt like they pushed a little bit. They activated their defense a little more, and we weren't making strong, hard plays in our own end. It led to a couple of turnovers, which both ended up in the back of our next. And at 2-2, it's a completely different hockey game."

"We came out of the gates great, and they resorted back to the only way they know they can affect us. Unfortunately, it played too much of an effect on the game."

Cooke also weighs in on Pens' goalie Tomas Vokoun's night, and he reacts to goals by Evgeni Malkin and Tyler Kennedy.

He also tells us what he thought when he heard Ottawa Senators owner Eugene Melnyk's comments for Cooke to be taken out of the game.

Matt Cooke joins Vinnie & Cook every week on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan. His next appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb. 27.
