Police Investigating After Man Is Shot Along Walking Trail

CANONSBURG (KDKA) — A 19-year-old man survived a shooting along a walking trail in Washington County.

Police say that Shawn Boehm was walking with his friend, James Harper, around 11 p.m. Tuesday in Canonsburg.

The men claim a man stepped out of the dark, demanded money and then shot Boehm in the leg.

Police say they are sorting through several stories.

“Right now, we’re investigating several conflicting stories – anything ranging from a robbery to possibly accidental and possibly a third person,” said Detective Sgt. Alexander Cogshill, of Canonsburg Police.

The victim is expected to survive.
