Manhunt For Suspect Accused Of Lighting Girlfriend On Fire

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – An arrest warrant has been issued for a man who police say dumped a bottle of perfume on his girlfriend, and then lit her on fire.

Clinton Cohen, 27, remains elusive after the fire Thursday morning in the woman's Springdale apartment.

A police report, made public Thursday night, says the couple's 3-month-old baby girl was in the same room with Cohen and her mother, 22-year old Maria Redman, at the time of the early morning assault.

Redman told investigators that an argument between her and Cohen escalated, and Cohen "choked, hit, and punched her about the head and face."

County Police Lt. Jeffrey Korczyk said, "Cohen opened a bottle of perfume, poured it on the victim, then lit it with a cigarette lighter and left the apartment."

Police said Cohen fled the apartment after throwing a blanket on Redman never knowing if the fire had gone out.

A police criminal complaint states that Redman told investigators in the hospital where she is now recovering that "she began rolling around on the floor in an attempt to extinguish the flames growing on her head, chest, face, back and arms."
