Evgeni Malkin Passes Tests, Will Play Tonight

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin has passed concussion related tests, and will play tonight against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The team announced Malkin's return at a press conference this morning.

Malkin has been practicing since last week, but just yesterday said he needed more time.

Coach Dan Bylsma said the team followed protocol for Malkin's injury, and has taken every precaution.

Bylsma says Malkin has felt good for 7 days since the injury.

Malkin had been out for four games after crashing into the boards during a game against the Panthers Feb. 22. He was tangled up with Florida defenseman, Erik Gudbranson before sliding back-first into the end boards.
