PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two major tuna companies are recalling products.

Tri-Union Seafood is recalling some of its “Chicken of the Sea” products and Bumble Bee Foods is also recalling tuna products.

Both companies are asking consumers to discard some of their canned tuna products because they were not sealed properly, which could cause contamination and spoilage.

The recall affects “Chicken of the Sea” brand 5-ounce chunk white albacore tuna in water sold between Feb. 4, 2013 and Feb. 27, 2013, as well as 5-ounce cans of Bumble Bee chunk white albacore and chunk light tuna sold between Jan. 17, 2013 and Feb. 28, 2013.

Both brands say there have been no reported illnesses, but are recalling the products to ensure safety and quality.
