1 Dead, 2 Injured In Westmoreland Co. Crash

MOUNT PLEASANT TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – One person was killed and two others were injured in a Saturday afternoon crash in Westmoreland County.

According to police, the accident happened on School Street in Mount Pleasant Township around 5:15 p.m.

The Westmoreland County Coroner’s office says 27-year-old Corey Moximchalk of Mt. Pleasant Borough died after the car he was a passenger in traveled off the road and hit two utility poles before rolling over and hitting a tree. Officials say Moximchalk was not wearing a seat belt and the car was likely speeding.

All three people inside the vehicle were ejected in the crash.

Moximchalk was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver, Scott Leighliter, and another passenger, Patrick Marshala, suffered serious injuries in the crash.

Police closed down the road for hours while they conducted their investigation.
