James Harrison's Agent: Steelers Haven't Closed Door

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - James Harrison's days in Pittsburgh are over, and his agent reacts with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93-7 The Fan.

Bill Parise explains that he simply couldn't agree with the Steelers on the remaining years of his contract.

"We were willing to take a pay cut," Parise says. "That was not an issue. The degree of that cut was always an issue. But it was really just a matter of not being able to find common ground where we could get this thing done going forward."

No matter where Harrison lands, Parise calls his shot for the 2008 NFL Defensive Player of the Year to have a big season.

"We'll be back in the Pro Bowl this year," Parise predicts. "Yeah, I look for a major year. He's healthy. I think he returns to the Pro Bowl this year."

Parise also reveals that teams have already expressed interest in Harrison's services for the upcoming year. But he also admits, "we have not closed the door on the Steelers, and I don't think the Steelers have closed the door on us. But I can't find any reason to revisit that. The door's not closed, but it's not something we're pursuing."
