Commercial Fire Closes Down Road For 2 Hours
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – An off-duty firefighter spotted thick black smoke pouring from a warehouse in McKees Rocks this afternoon.
Investigators say something sparked a fire inside MSSI Refractory.
Flames broke out near some cardboard boxes and storage tanks.
There was some concern about about chemical explosions but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames.
The company manufactures ceramic liners for heavy industrial use.
Island Avenue was shut down to traffic for about two hours.
