PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Police continue to investigate a suicide bombing in Cambria County that is being investigated as an attempted murder.

Bradley Kollar was supposed to be sentenced Tuesday morning on drug and theft charges, but instead went to another man’s house and caused an explosion.

Investigators say Kollar called Bill Shaner, then pulled his truck into Shaner’s driveway and caused a massive explosion that leveled the Kepshire Road home in Clearfield Township.

Shaner and his teenage son were trapped in the rubble.

Authorities would not comment on speculation that Kollar believed Shaner had snitched on him in the case in which he was to be sentenced.

The district attorney tried to have Kollar’s bond revoked last year after learning that he had threatened to kill himself with explosives. The motion was denied by a judge.

Kollar was known to make fireworks and only had one arm because of a previous explosion.

The ATF and FBI are looking into what explosives and how much of them were used.

Shaner remains in critical condition at Allegheny General Hospital. His teenage son was expected to be released from Altoona Hospital. Shaner’s wife and two other sons were not home at the time.
