Pittsburgh Retreat Center Changes Lives

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA )-Lou Gentile of CSI Investigators talked with KDKA's Rob Pratte Saturday morning about the Saint Paul of the Cross Monastery located in downtown Pittsburgh and the passing of their friend Frederick Paul Policaro.

The landmark is a Catholic Monastery and Retreat House run by Passionist Priests.

According to their website, "St. Paul of the Cross, known in secular life as Paul Daneo, was born in Ovada, Italy on January 3, 1694. At the age of 26 he received the special grace of a deeper spiritual conversion and was inspired to found a new religious congregation the Church, known today as the Passionists. According to St. Paul of the Cross Monastery's website, The Passionists were founded to live a life of prayer, poverty, penance and solitude, and to go forth as apostolic preachers to proclaim the ignominies and glories of the cross."

Gentile said the center welcomes all denominations of faith and can change a person's life.

Listen to Rob Pratte every Saturday morning for Weekend Magazine on NewsRadio 1020 KDKA.
