Pittsburgh SWAT Team Searches Wrong Home For Man

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Carla Glover came home over the weekend to find her door knocked down and her front window smashed.

But now we know what happened and why the swat team went to the wrong house.

It was enough to frighten neighbors. The street filled with SWAT teams that took over Sutherland Street.

On Glover's porch today was the door that was her front door yesterday. A new door in place now.

Also the front window is now boarded up. It turns out a Department of Public Works crew boarded up the window after police realized their mistake.

According to Cmdr. Scott Schubert, the SWAT team was told police had warrants to enter both the row house on the left and the one right.

But once the operation began, as police searched for a homicide suspect in a case that developed in the morning hours before the SWAT operation, the team was informed that police did not have a warrantfor the house on the right -- Glover's house -- and that she had nothing to do with the case.

But by that time the operation had already begun.

A neighbor took this video of officers poised and ready for anything.

Police say the best they can do now is inform the resident that she should file a claim with the city's legal department for damages.
