PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — Pirates color analyst and former pitcher Steve Blass joined The Fan Morning Show on Wednesday to look back at Tuesday’s 6-5 Pirates win over the Diamondbacks, and to look forward to the rest of the season.

He expressed confidence in Mark Melancon as a sturdy bullpen bridge to closer Jason Grilli, said that we tend to cast judgment on teams too early in the season, and explained what the Pirates’ hitters and pitching staff need to do to ensure that they’re at their best going forward.

Blass joined the guys in place of Bob Walk for “Walk on Wednesday,” as the Pirates game (which Walk called) finished late last night out in Arizona.
