MOUNT PLEASANT (KDKA) — A West Newton man is in jail charged with robbing Rite Aid and Walgreens pharmacies from Mount Pleasant to Greensburg, some he is accused of hitting twice.

The latest robbery happened at the Rite Aid at the Countryside Plaza in Mount Pleasant.

Police say 33-year-old Zachary Allan Clausner handed the pharmacist a note Monday night just before 8:30 p.m.

It was written in all caps and read: “I have a gun, stay calm. Don’t make me hurt you. Give me all your Oxycodone in 15mg, 30mg and any Vic’s.”

Police say they used a tracking device to locate Clausner. Before he was arrested, there was a high-speed chase and a foot chase.

State police say they have linked him with six other robberies in the area.

Clausner is in the Westmoreland County Jail on $100,000 straight bond.
