Jay Caufield: Rangers Might Be A Team To Avoid

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) -- ROOT Sports Penguins analyst Jay Caufield joined The Fan Morning Show on Thursday to look back at the Penguins' 6-4 win over the Canadiens on Wednesday night.

He offered a long list of all the things going right for the Penguins right now, and there sure are many given the way the team has been playing of late.

No Crosby, no Malkin, no Neal, no Martin - no problem.

"The guys on this team want to be in that lineup so they are going to play hard to try and keep a spot" Caufield said.

Caufield did say that the penalty kill numbers would indicate that is still a concern, but there is enough leadership on this team that he things they will be just fine when the playoffs get here.

In terms of teams the Penguins might want to avoid in the playoffs, Caufield said the Rangers might not be the best matchup.

"They are gritty and on any given night, [Henrik] Lundqvist can steal a series," Caufield said.

Caufield's commentary can be heard during every Penguins game on ROOT Sports, and on The Fan Morning Show every week.
