Islanders Defenseman Brian Strait Recaps Game One, Says Nerves Were An Issue

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - After taking a 5-0 beating in the opening game of the series, you might think the Islanders would be down on themselves, but defenseman Brian Strait said there's no need to panic just yet.

"We understand that it's just one game, and it didn't matter whether we lost 1-0 or 6-0 or 5-0.  We just know that we got to come back with a better performance in game two and try to get a win."

Being a young team though, Strait admits that nerves played an issue early in the game.

"I think after a period or so the nerves kind of left and we were able to play some hockey in the 3rd period.  We really just never got to our game completely."

Strait also talks about the shot goaltender Evgeni Nabokov took to the facemask from Jarome Iginla, how this Pens team is different from the one he played on earlier this year and what we can expect to see from John Tavares in game two.
