Ryan Turnley: 'I Wasn't Too Anxious Or Nervous' During Draft

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – Former Pitt football coach Ryan Turnley joined The Fan Morning Show on Friday to chat with Gregg Giannotti and Jim Colony about his time with the program, and about signing a contract with the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent.

Even though he wasn't drafted, Turnley didn't have to wait long to be picked up, as he got a call from the Bills just as the final pick was being announced.

"I still had fun watching the draft," Turnley said. "I've been watching the draft every year since I was a little kid. I wasn't too anxious or nervous throughout it."

Turnley told the guys that he doesn't see going undrafted as anything to be ashamed of.

"It's still an accomplishment," Turnley explained. "Everyone would want to be drafted, but not everyone can be drafted. At the same time, it's an opportunity for me and I'm excited about that."

He explained that there were a few other teams that had interest, but he was pretty sure he'd end up going where he did if he wasn't drafted.
