PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – A Beaver County man was found after an hours-long search, about 400 yards from his home.

Police say 84-year-old John Kopp was reported missing around 10 a.m. from his home on Backbone Road in Independence Township Tuesday.

Kopp, who has Alzheimer’s disease, was found sitting in a field near his home around 2:30 p.m.

After he was found, Kopp was greeted by enthusiastic family and friends who were relieved to see him.

Kopp’s wife gave him a big kiss and said “Thank God,” when she saw him.

“Thank you lord,” Kopp’s wife June said. “We have been married for 62 years. He’s alright, I am grateful.”
