Keisel Teams Up With Children's Hospital For VIP Fishing Trip

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Off the football field, Steelers defensive captain Brett Keisel loves to spend time in the great outdoors.

He especially enjoys fishing and soon, you may be able to tag along for a trip to the lake.

How does a VIP fishing trip with the two-time Super Bowl champ sound?

For a second year, fans have a chance to win that opportunity.

"It was a great time, met a lot of really neat new people. The fishing was okay. I did manage to land a few, but we're going to make sure we stock up the lake this year with some lunkers, so we're reeling in some five-pound trout," Keisel said.

Although the fishing wasn't the most successful, Keisel says he had a great time.

This year, in addition to four lucky contest winners, four patients from Children's Hospital will enjoy the day.

Don's Appliances and Hillmon Appliance have joined on as sponsors.

"My four brothers and I and our parents, we've been very fortunate, we've got healthy kids and when we heard Children's Hospital and Brett Keisel, it was a no-brainer for us," Matt Hillebrand from Don's Appliances said.

"Kids are always wanting to do new and interesting things. They want some way to get out of the hospital and do something different, so I think it will be great," Keisel said.

Besides the fishing, Keisel said the day will include an autograph session and lunch.

"Of course, I like to eat a lot, so we have a great chef coming in to put on a barbecue, so it's a lot of fun," Keisel said.

In order to enter, you have to be at least 18-years-old and must have a valid Pa. fishing license.
