1 Killed In Westmoreland Co. Crash

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – One person was killed in a car crash in Westmoreland County Monday.

It happened around 8:26 p.m. on Mt. Pleasant Road in South Huntingdon Township.

Officials say 56-year-old Mary Opat died of blunt force trauma to the head, neck and chest after she crossed the center divider, missing a right turn.

Opat’s car ended up in an embankment and rolled over several times before she was ejected.

Police say Opat was not wearing a seat belt and speed was likely a factor.
