PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) — Pirates color commentator and former pitcher Bob Walk joined The Fan Morning Show today for another edition of his weekly segment, “Walk on Wednesday.”

Walk said that the crowd’s reaction to Gerrit Cole’s Major League debut on Tuesday night was phenomenal, adding that Cole must be really pumped up this morning after experience that.

Walk noted that while Cole is a power pitcher, he doesn’t necessarily go for strikeouts, instead pounding the strike zone without going out of his way to try to make guys miss.

Walk feels that, if this is the way that Cole normally pitches, then he should be the kind of pitcher that can throw a good number of complete games.

“Walk on Wednesday” can be heard every Wednesday on The Fan Morning Show at 8:40 a.m.
