Boy With Brain Cancer Checks Off Bucket List
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- For 7-year-old Connor Michalek, the baseball field is where he escapes.
Where he escapes his tough, stage four-battle with brain cancer.
Monday night, the community of Hampton came together to make the little boy feel like a star.
With signs of support everywhere, the crowd cheered Connor on.
Local businesses donated items to be raffled or sold to raise money for Connor and his family as part of something called Connor's Crusade.
Recently, the family learned Connor's cancer is back, and this time, according to the family, doctors say no treatment will help.
His aunt, Sandi Stritzinger, says the money is to help Connor's parents spend time with him without worrying about bills and also to fund what she calls a sort of "bucket list."
She says Connor wants to go to the beach and go see Spider Man.
