Cole: "It's Pretty Special"

PITTSBURGH (KDKA 93-7 The Fan)- The Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Milwaukee Brewers 10-3 Friday night to win their seventh-consecutive game.

Rookie starter Gerrit Cole allowed three runs over six innings to improve to 4-0. Cole became the first Pirates pitcher since Nick Madddox in 1907 to win his first four starts.

"It's pretty special," Cole told Bob Pompeani. "I'm not really trying to focus on that. I think we're just playing really good baseball right now, and I'm just a small piece of the puzzle. But I'm happy to be 4-0, that's for sure."

There's also the possibility that Cole might return to the minors when A.J. Burnett and Wandy Rodriguez return to the rotation. Pompeani asked Cole how he would react to that.

"I don't know. Hopefully, we won't have to cross that bridge, but if we do, I guess I'll just cross it when we come to it," Cole said.
