PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) – On Monday, the Pirates start a three-game series with the Oakland Athletics. To talk about the interleague set, the Fan Morning Show talked to former A’s Manager, Ken Macha.

Ken is excited to see the Pirates and A’s battle it out in a battle of first-place teams.

“It is great to see these two storied franchises at the top of their Leagues because they have not had much success over the last decade-plus.” Macha said.

In an interleague series, Ken tells us that the Managers will begin to prepare three days in advance. “When you do not see a team very often, you tend to prepare farther in advance,” Ken says.  First team will look at which pitchers will start, and what they have done in the past against certain hitters.

“They probably began Saturday in Kansas City,” Ken said about the set that begins today.
