Armstrong Co. Woman Gives Birth To Possible Record-Sized Baby

KITTANNING (KDKA) -- A newborn baby girl may have set a record at a local hospital.

Addyson Gale Cessna weighed in at 13 pounds and 12 ounces, which may be the biggest baby ever born at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital outside Kittanning, Armstrong County.

The hospital says it doesn't keep records on things like that, but the two doctors involved say they've never delivered a baby weighing this much.

The parents, Michelle and Mark Cessna, expected the baby to be big, but no one anticipated she would be more than 13 pounds. Their other children, J.J. and Ryan, were also larger babies.

"We knew we had a big baby, but not that big," Michelle told KDKA's David Highfield.

"I was guessing about 10 pounds, I wasn't expecting this," Mark said after the baby's birth.

Addyson Gale is also 25 inches long.

She was delivered by C-section by Dr. Yannie Narcisse and Dr. Amy Turner.

"I think as mothers, we all have that initial, oh my that must have hurt, and they're right. That's big." Dr. Narcisse said.

Both baby and mom are healthy and doing well.

Michelle Cessna says she has the perfect family now.

Congratulations to the Cessnas!
