Jeff Locke: The All-Star Game 'Was A Lot Of Fun'

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Vinnie Richichi had the chance to travel to New York for last night's All-Star Game and he spoke with the Pirates who were picked to be there. Although he did not participate due to injury, Pirates starting pitcher Jeff Locke had a great time.

Jeff is feeling much better and the rest he received has helped a great deal. It just made sense to not risk further injury and sit this game out.

It was an honor for Jeff to be around and talk with the best players in the game but they did not necessarily talk just about baseball. This was a time to unplug from that pressure for a few days.

Seeing teammates participate in the action made Jeff feel good. Getting nationwide recognition for what the Pirates are doing this year is special.

Jeff did not have the All-Star Game as a goal, and he thinks most players would prefer playing well down the stretch.

All series are big, including the one that follows the break against the Reds. "To be the best you have to beat the best," Locke said.

Jeff will never forget this special experience.
