Stage AE Ready For Lt. Dan Band Concert

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A huge American Flag has been unfurled over Stage AE where actor Gary Sinise and the Lt. Dan Band will perform pop, rock and country tonight.

The Gary Sinise Foundation is raising money for severely wounded vets all over the country.

Here in Pittsburgh, Sinise will help pay for a high-tech, handicapped-accessible home for Sgt. Doug Vitale and his wife, Alexis. Vitale was severely injured in Afghanistan.

He lost his legs and suffered brain damage.

"The money raised at this concert tonight will go towards building a smart house for Doug and Alexis Vitale," said Chris Kuban, the concert organizer.

But there is some concern about the fundraiser since the show hasn't sold out yet. They're hoping for a good walk up crowd.

"We have plenty of tickets left for people to come and buy tickets at the door," said Kuban. "Just come to Stage AE."

If you're worried about the weather, don't. The concert will go on rain or shine, but you don't have to stay in the rain.

Monitors are set up inside Stage AE, so you can still watch the show but stay dry. After tonight, the Lt. Dan Band moves on to another city to help another wounded vet.

"The fundraising doesn't end here," said Kuban. "There's so many quadruple and triple amputees and people in Doug's case that we're building homes across the country."
