Armstrong Co. Officials Warn Of Possible Scam

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Armstrong county officials are warning residents of a possible scam.

Officials say several property owners have received letters promising a copy of their current grant deed in exchange for $83.

The letters are allegedly being sent from a company in Delaware called "Record Transfer Services."

County officials say they're not sure the company is doing anything illegal by sending out the letters, but point out the District Attorney's office and Office of Registrar and Recorder offer the same service for "a much lower fee."

Residents are instructed to contact the District Attorney's office or Office of the Registrar and Recorder with any questions.
