Beaver Co. Pedestrian Dies After Being Hit By 2 Vehicles
BIG BEAVER (KDKA) – Police are investigating after a pedestrian died after being hit by two vehicles in Beaver County late Wednesday night.
According to police, the accident happened where Route 18 intersects Eastwood and Westgate Drives in Big Beaver around 11:35 p.m.
A 46-year-old man was trying to walk across four lanes of traffic when he was hit by a vehicle traveling north on Route 18. The driver of the vehicle attempted to swerve to avoid the pedestrian, but was unable to do so.
As a result, the pedestrian was knocked to the ground near the center line of Route 18.
Shortly after, another vehicle traveling north on Route 18 struck the pedestrian.
Police said the man was not using the crosswalk and it doesn't appear either driver was at fault.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been released at this time.
