PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Hours after watching his team clinch a winning season for the first time in two decades, Pittsburgh Pirates GM Neal Huntington reacts with Vinnie & Cook on Sportsradio 93.7 The Fan.
“We do recognize that there is value in this accomplishment,” Huntington admits. “And we’re working hard to learn to celebrate the small victories along the way. But we do have much bigger and better plans.”
“It’s a mile-marker. Its a checked box on the to-do list as we head towards our ultimate goal of winning a World Series. The next step is getting into the postseason. The step after that is winning the division, and then we look to win a playoff series.”
Huntington details the road to this point in the season, and notes how far the organization has come since a dismal finish in 2010. He also updates the latest on Charlie Morton’s injury, and explains why he thinks the Pirates can win it all! Hear all of Neal’s thoughts in the interview below.
