Jury Selection Continues For W. Va. Mom Accused In Son's Drowning Death

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Jury selection continues today for a woman from West Virginia who is accused in the drowning death of her 2-year-old son in a bathtub at a local hotel.

Sharon Flanagan was staying at the Best Western in Green Tree in July of 2012.

She told police she found her son face down in the tub and couldn't pull him out.

A female receptionist at the hotel says she remembers Flanagan. She described Flanagan as acting odd and speaking in baby talk to the toddler and the boy was wearing a little fireman's hat.

She also said Flanagan seemed reluctant to share her driver's license and license plate number.

She had other people in the hotel call 911.

The boy died a few days later.

In addition to homicide, Flanagan is also charged with wiretapping because police say she illegally recorded her interview with detectives.
