Woman Arrested After Pet Salon Attempted Burglary

PETERS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A woman has been arrested after an alleged attempted burglary at a pet salon in Peters Township Tuesday evening.

According to police, the incident happened at the Brush Run Pet Salon in the 400-block of Downeybrook Road around 8 p.m.

The suspect has been identified as 47-year-old Rebecca Janesko, who is a former employee of the business.

A current employee noticed Janesko behind the salon trying to get in. When Janesko spotted the employee, she ran. Roughly 10 to 20 minutes later, the same employee heard glass breaking and called 911.

When police arrived, they found Janesko on the ground with blood on her hands and attempted to take her into custody. However, she allegedly punched and kicked the officers.

Janesko is now in the Washington County Jail on $10,000 straight bond.

She is facing a list of charges including, aggravated assault, resisting arrest and attempted burglary.
