BIG BEAVER (KDKA) – Investigators say a blown tire on a cement truck may have played a roll in a fatal accident this afternoon in Big Beaver Borough.

According to emergency dispatchers, the accident happened on the westbound ramp onto Interstate 376 shortly before 2 p.m.

The truck careened off the ramp, went through a guard rail and ended up in a ravine, spilling some of its concrete load.

There were initial reports of entrapment. However, the coroner has since been called to the scene.

The truck belongs to Castle Builders Supply based out of New Castle.

The driver was 67-year old Wallace Brown of New Castle. He has been with the company for about 12 years.
