Affordable Care Act Application Information

In the midst of the government shutdown, the Affordable Care Act was given the green light this morning.

Nearly 50 million uninsured Americans are now able to begin the process of buying health coverage.

Depending on where you live, patients can shop for insurance plans through the federal government, or state exchanges.

Some uninsured people will qualify for Medicaid, others will get government subsidies to help pay for premiums.

When applying, you'll be asked if you're a citizen and employment information.

If everything goes as planned, by Jan. 1, all Americans will be obligated to carry health insurance or face a fine.
