Firehouse Beef Stroganoff
Firehouse Beef Stroganoff
INGREDIENTS:
1 1/2 sirloin steak
1 pkg Lipton Soup
1 oz Uncle Roy's Hot Sauce
2 tbsp tomato paste
6oz cooking sherry
1 white onion
1 clove garlic
1 cup sour cream
1 med green bell pepper
8oz button mushrooms
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
1/2 tbsp veg oil
2tbsp butter
2tbsp flour
1 cup water
white rice/noodle
Cooking Directions
1. Place Lipton soup package in to a bowl. Pour Sherry over the soup and place in refrigerator.
2. Begin the process of cooking your starch. Rice or noodles. Personal preference.
3. Chop steak in 1 inch cubes. Heat large skillet. Chopped all veggies (peppers, onions, mushrooms, garlic, celantro). Once the skillet is hot add half the veg oil and butter until melted. Then add the the veggies and cook for about 5mins. Remove veggies from pan and set aside.
4. Roll the steak in flour until lightly coated. Add other half veg oil to pan. Brown the meat and turn frequently for about 5mins until browned. Add vegetables back to pan with the meat. Add uncle roys, tomato paste, black pepper, the onion soup with sherry, and 1 cup of water. Allow liquid to reach boil. Turn heat down low and put a lid on pan. Let simmer for about 15mins. While the stroganoff is cooking finish up the noodles/rice.
5. Turn heat off of skillet, take lid off and let cool of just a little. Then add sour cream. (If the mixture is to hot, the sour cream will curdle). A couple stirs with the lid off will prevent this. Serve immediately over the rice or noodles. Serves 4-6.
