Police Find Missing Elderly North Side Man At YMCA

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — Police have found an elderly man reported missing from Pittsburgh’s North Side.

According to Pittsburgh Police, 89-year-old Robert Shantz was last seen around 7 a.m. Friday at his home in the Spring Garden neighborhood.

However, they say after local media reports, he was discovered at the North Side YMCA on W. North Avenue.

Authorities were concerned because he suffers from heart problems and dementia and could have been confused and disoriented.

He is known to frequent Spring Garden Avenue and McKnight Road in Ross Township.
