Bouchette: "It's Dumb, Arrogant And Shameful"

PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan)- Post-Gazette Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined the Fan Morning Show in his regular weekly spot on Monday and the thing on everyone's mind is what the punishment is going to be for Coach Tomlin rather than a 22-20 loss to the Ravens.

"If he did it on purpose he deserves what ever he gets," Bouchette said of Tomlin's two step on the sideline that caused Ravens returner Jacoby Jones to alter his path just enough to get caught on what appeared to be a TD return. "That is something you see on a playground."

Bouchette said the move was so out of character for Mike Tomlin which makes him still find it hard to believe he did this on purpose but if the league determines he did, "It's dumb, arrogant and shameful," Bouchette said.

The league has yet to officially make a ruling on what they feel happened and what the punishment may be. Reports surfaced yesterday that the NFL could come down hard on Tomlin and the Steelers in the form of a large fine and a potential loss of a draft pick. The fine could be in the six-figure range.

Bouchette says that there is no way to excuse this. If one of the Steelers players did this Tomlin for sure would be all over them so he expects that his bosses will feel the same.

The Steelers loss to the Ravens on Thursday night was not the final nail in the coffin for them. At (5-7) the Steelers could still win out and make the playoffs.

"I want to see the Steelers be the first the first (6-10) team to make the playoffs," Bouchette jokingly said.

They will have to do it with a rebuilt offensive line that will be down to their 3rd different center, Cody Wallace. The rest of the line include Kelvin Beachum, Ramon Foster, David DeCastro and Marcus Gilbert.

Bouchette also adds that he is not ready to give up on Ike Taylor at corner like so many have had over the past couple of weeks.
