PITTSBURGH (KDKA) — If you’ll be traveling in the area of the Fort Pitt Tunnels late tonight, expect some delays.

Officials with PennDOT say they will be closing down the inbound side overnight for repairs.

The closure will begin at 10 p.m. and continue through 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Drivers are advised to find an alternative route.

PennDOT has posted this detour:

  • From eastbound (inbound) I-376 Parkway West, take Exit 69-C (West End) to northbound Route 51
  • Follow northbound Route 51 to Route 837 (Carson Street)
  • Bear right onto Route 837
  • Follow Route 837 to the ramp for eastbound I-376
  • End detour

According to PennDOT, crews will be removing a section of the tunnel’s suspended ceiling.
