PITTSBURGH (KDKA)– Pirates catcher Chris Stewart has been called up from the 15-Day Disabled List after having a successful stint playing in Triple-A.

After undergoing a successful knee surgery in mid-March, Stewart went 8-for-22, batting .343 during his seven game stint while playing in Indianapolis and for High-A Bradenton.

Due to Stewart being called up, catcher Tony Sanchez will be sent down to Indianapolis after a successful stint with the Buccos, batting .333 while going 6-for-18 with a double and four RBI’s and hitting safely in all of his six games.
