DEP: Some Tyler Mountain Water Contaminated With E. Coli

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – The DEP is warning consumers after finding that some Tyler Mountain Water has been contaminated with total coliform and E. coli.

The affected products include 3, 4 and 5-gallon sizes of the mountain water.

Tyler Mountain Water is produced by Aqua Filter Fresh.

A spokesperson for the company released a statement saying, "Tyler Mountain took immediate actions to notify its customers about the potential for concern with the few shipments in question. Protection of the public health is our top concern. We are continuing to remain in contact with these affected customers to pick up and replace those questionable deliveries promptly."

The DEP says the E. coli found in the contaminated water could cause symptoms such as cramps, headaches, nausea or diarrhea.

Anyone with information can call the Safe Drinking Water Hotline at 1-800-426-4791.
