Butler Co. Man Shot In The Face During Fight

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- State police say Michael Grasak didn't even know Ted Divers until early Wednesday morning.

You can imagine that Grasak is pretty familiar with Divers now, though, after police say Grasak shot Divers in the face.

State police say Divers had been hanging out with two friends at the Monroe Hotel in Butler early Wednesday morning when he met up with a woman. He invited her and her two friends, Michael Grasak and Adam Bosco, back to his house in Oakland Township for an after-party and bonfire.

It was before 2 a.m. when the trio followed Divers to his Oneida Valley Road home. It wasn't long after their arrival that Divers and Bosco started yelling and fighting.

Troopers say Grasak intervened and the trio was asked to leave. Another fight broke out near Grasak's car as they were leaving, but police say this time Grasak started punching Divers.

The criminal complaint says a gun Grasak had in his pants fell out. He picked it up, pistol whipped Divers and then continued to fight with his finger on the trigger.

Police say the gun went off, hitting Divers' face. Divers was taken to the hospital and is expected to survive. Troopers arrested Grasak the next day.

Grasak remains locked up here at the Butler County Prison on a $250,000 cash bond.
