Another Shooting Sends Police To New Castle Apartment Complex

NEW CASTLE (KDKA) -- Police are investigating the second shooting in two nights at a Lawrence County apartment complex.

This latest shooting was reported just after 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Crestview Gardens apartments on Cascade Street in New Castle.

According to emergency dispatchers, the man was shot in the head.

The Lawrence County Coroner's Office reports that the 29-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not yet been released.

An autopsy has been scheduled for today.

On Thursday night, another person was shot at the same apartments on Pin Oak Drive.

There's no word on what prompted either shooting.

New Castle Police continue to investigate.
