Woman, 71, Killed In I-70 Car Accident

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- A 71-year-old driver was killed when her car left the road and rolled over on I-70 East in South Strabane Township.

According to a Washington County Coroner's report, the Mary Campbell of Bridgeville was driving a Ford SUV on I-70 East around 12:15 p.m. Friday.

The victim was coming through a slight right bend when they left the road, traveled nearly 400 feet, rolled over and came to a stop in the median. Campbell was partially ejected from the car. No one else was in the car.

South Strabane Fire Department and the Washington County Sheriff assisted at the scene.

Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:15 p.m.

Her cause and manner of death have not yet been determined. The incident is under investigation by the Pennsylvania State Police.
