Thousands Pack Heinz Field For AC Milan-Manchester City Game

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Less trash made it easier to prepare the parking lots for soccer fans Sunday.

Thousands of people were at Heinz Field to watch two of Europe's top club teams.

The most stunning game of the World Cup was the Germany 7-1 rout of Brazil on Brazilian soil.

Sunday at Heinz Field, Manchester City took a page out of the German playbook and scored early and often against AC Milan in front of a crowd of 34,000.

AC Milan lost to Manchester City with a score of 5 - 1.

Fans credit the World Cup for the rise of soccer's popularity.

"I watched the World Cup, after watching all those players, I wanted to see it live," said Jamie Stein.

"I think it's cool that a championship game has finally come to Pittsburgh too," she added.

The game was delayed while storms moved through the area.
