Ligonier Residents Upset Over Proposed Cell Tower Site

LIGONIER TOWNSHIP (KDKA) – A proposed site for a new cell tower is generating plenty of controversy in Westmoreland County.

According to a Tribune-Review report, the proposed site of the tower is at the Ligonier Valley Cemetery.

During a conditional use hearing, township supervisors heard over two hours of testimony by the public and Verizon officials.

In addition to the tower, an equipment building and security fence would also be constructed.

A final decision on the 159-foot tower has not been made. Additional testimony was postponed for 30 days.
